Betanzos HB leads the consortium of companies of the Cluster da Madeira e o Deseño de Galicia (CDM) that won the prize of the Segundo Piloto Industria 4.0 of the Xunta de Galicia. The recognition is for a Factory 4.0 project in which our company participates with the CDM and eight other Galician SMEs.
This is an ongoing initiative until June 30th 2018 for the automation of the formation of board by which the pulp movement of the line of production will be automatatized in order to increase the quality of the product, productivity and energetic efficiency in the plant. This automation is an own design, as well as others already deployed successfully at the plant, setting our factory as a worldwide reference in quality hardboard and productivity.
The project presented by CDM companies was set up with the objectives of raising awareness, supporting and promoting the transition of the Galician industry of wood processing to the Industry 4.0. This award, granted by an independent jury and promoted by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape) with funds from the European Union, is an endorsement of Betanzos HB’s commitment to evolve towards an smart factory, with a qualitative leap in services and new business development.
This initiative is co-financed the FEDER in the FEDER Operational Programme for Galicia 2014-2020 and supported by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape) and by the Economy, Work and Industry Ministry in the Galician Government.
