A fine process
The production process uses wood as the only raw materials, and biomass thermal energy. The factory counts on a certified environmental management system following ISO 14001 Standard.
Renewable energy
Betanzos HB uses forest biomass as fuel to get the energy needed. Biomass is a fine, secure and efficient energetic option that helps saving the environment.
Climate change prevention
Tablex is a biomaterial operating as a CO2 stock from its state as a tree until the end of the process. The CO2 trapped while the tree is growing remains stocked during the product use.
A fine product
Tablex is ‘pure wood’, made up from wood and water taking advantage of the thermoplastic properties of the lignin as a natural adhesive instead of using artificial adhesives. Tablex is NFB (Natural Fiber Board), a registered trademark for fibreboards without artificial joining agents.
Fire prevention
As a forest processing company, Betanzos HB buys a great amount of wood and biomass from nearby forests, encouraging more sustainable and ordered forestry and reducing the impact of fires and extreme meteorological events.
Formaldehyde free
Unlike other boards (plywood, triplay, hardboard, mid-density, MDF or DM, OSB…), Tablex does not emit formaldehyde except the one coming from the natural wood. Therefore it's exempted from the application of the CARB2 standard. Under TSCA Title VI, our hardboard is exempted from the formaldehyde emission standards, so it is not necessary to certify.
Long term product
The durability of the product, due to its high density, makes it a resistant, trustwortht and ecological material, enabling lower energy consumption and less CO2 emissions also during the fabrication process.
Recyclable and biodegradable
Tablex wood based composition makes it a biodegradable material, allowing its re-exploitation as a natural heat source, a renewable fuel to produce energy at the end of its life.
