World Environment Day with students of the CPR Atocha at Betanzos

Betanzos HB participated this morning in the celebration of World Environment Day with scholars from places around the industrial plant. The fifth and sixth grade students of CPR Nuestra Señora del Carmen-Atocha at Betanzos visited this morning the facilities of the company within its program of extracurricular activities.

After a training workshop on the importance of eucalyptus in Galicia, its industry, social value and applications, the 52 girls and boys aged between 10 and 12 years planted five native trees (chestnut, oak, yew, alder and birch) on the grounds of the plant. Students and teachers of the school shared this activity with staffers from different departments of Betanzos HB, who accompanied them throughout the morning.

As a giveaway of the visit, each student received a T-shirt and a Lobelia plant, provided by Emprego Social, a special non-profit employment center.
